Adolescent naivete meets aged cynicism in this psychotronic sci-fi homage to Hal Ashby’s “Harold and Maude.” Set in the autumn of the year 2014CX* the 64k killer in question is 17-year old Maximilian Corduroy, an antisocial hacker with a penchant for mindless digital malfeasance and - when the mood strikes – grand larceny. But his shenanigans take a serious turn after his latest victim, a wealthy Wall Street tycoon, winds up dead and all the ever-watchful eyes of America’s National Cyber-Crimes Bureau turn his way.

Maximilian is driven underground and forced to use all his illicit talents to clear his own name. Amid all the turmoil, he finds the most unlikeliest ally imaginable – the wife of the deceased tycoon, attorney Cherry Sanders, played straight and suave by Technoir regular Aileen Ryan. Together this unlikely coupled uncover a conspiracy that runs deep and wide through America’s financial sector, and leads them straight to the Pentagon, and secret digital virus lab housed half a mile beneath it. The secrets Max and Cherry uncover are so dangerous, so severe, and so wildly implausible, it makes “The 64k Killer” the best-worst thing to ever crawl from behind the curtains of Technoir .
